Plan for Improved Student Learning and Assessment

Mission

The mission of the Center for Assessment and Instructional Support provides for the establishment of a comprehensive, continual and multidimensional program to facilitate the assessment of student learning outcomes and evaluation of academic programs.

Second, the Center will disseminate the results of its studies to the various constituents of the University community. A most important component of this process will be active collaboration with faculty members in the design and implementation of strategies for academic program improvement.

Finally, the Center will provide faculty members with instructional support in the form of workshops, seminars, and ancillary services. This instructional support will be designed to assess teaching effectiveness and to provide faculty members with education, training, and consultation in the areas of instructional delivery and the assessment of student learning outcomes.
