Dr. Hass’ research interests include an examination of the development and implementation of community correctional alternatives to incarceration, the impact of the changing dynamics of sentencing and corrections on the structural operation of prisons, and the effect of prisoner reentry programs on successful integration of offenders into the community. She currently serves as the department’s Graduate Director and has published a variety of books, including a major textbook titled Criminology: Connecting Theory, Research, and Practice which is now in its second edition.
