Dr. Ahmed H. Ibrahim is a professor of Modern Middle East History at Missouri State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago where he trained under the direction of Rashid Khalidi, the Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies and Director of the Middle East Institute, Columbia University. Dr. Ibrahim’s teaching and research focus on the Arab Middle East and the Arab-Israeli Conflict. He has previously taught at DePaul University and Loyola University-Chicago. He has published several articles and book chapters on Arab-Israeli relations and Arab political and diplomatic history. His upcoming monograph: Egypt and the Peace Process with Israel: 1967-1977 is heavily grounded in vast archival material and personal interviews. The monograph traces the origins of Egypt’s peace efforts to end the conflict with Israel and asserts Egypt’s commitment to peace with Israel as early as 1967.

Professor Ibrahim is the recipient of several teaching and service awards. He is an active member of the Middle East Studies Association of North America and the American Historical Association. He is also a Research Fellow at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago.
