Ben-Ruwin is currently an Associate Professor of Politics and Administration at Texas A&M International University. He completed his B.A. in management at the University of Ghar-younis, Benghazi, Libya. He has two Master’s degrees: Master in Public Administration (M.P.A), and Master in Urban Planning (M.U.P) at Portland State University, Portland, Oregon. He has a Ph.D. in comparative politics at the University of North Texas. Dr. Ben-Ruwin research interests focus on: Human rights from Islamic perspective, the Islamization processes in the Middle East, and the role of political leadership in societies. He has published numerous articles in Arabic language. The second edition of his book (in Arabic) entitled: “Political Pluralism in the Islamic State,” has been published in Cairo, Egypt last year 2006. He has also published numerous articles, in English, such as: “Islamization of Democracy: The Requisite of Democracy in the Islamic World.” In the International Journal of Civil Society Law, Vol. IV, No. 3, July 2006.
