Communication Sciences and Disorders

Amy Freemyer has a long history with her field of study: “All of the deaf students in my hometown went to my elementary school. I learned sign language from them. My two younger sisters learned sign as well; when we played ‘school’ at home, we played deaf school.” She earned an associate’s degree from a community college and was an interpreter before she decided she wanted to be a deaf-education teacher. more
