Middle School Students

Bear fans

As a middle school student, you may think you are too young to start thinking about college, but the truth is that you aren’t. The years spent during middle school are the perfect time to start preparing for college. The study skills and habits you develop now will remain with you as you enter high school. Put forth your best effort now (i.e. study for your tests, turn in your homework, go to class on time, etc.) and you will see the results later.

As a middle school student, we suggest you…

  • Start talking to your parents and teachers about college.
  • Get to know high school students, and ask them how high school is different than middle school and how you can best prepare for the change.
  • Think about what career you might want to pursue.
  • Read, read, read! Do as much as you can to enhance your vocabulary.
  • Take a look at college websites of schools that you might be interested in attending.
