It is our goal at Missouri State to help students follow their passion and find their place. While we believe that our strong academic programs play a vital role in this mission, we also believe that student life activities are an important aspect to student development.
Student Engagement
The Office of Student Engagement wants your student to feel connected to Missouri State. Our University offers more than 350 student organizations, a Center for Leadership and Volunteerism, fraternity and sorority life, a Student Activities Council, numerous campus ministries, Plaster Student Union, and more. No matter what your students’ interests, they will be sure to find his/her niche at Missouri State.
Campus Recreation
The staff members at the Missouri State Campus Recreation department promote physical activity and wellness in order to enrich your student’s university learning experience. Campus Recreation offers fitness and wellness programs, intramural sports, trips and equipment rental services though the Outdoors Adventures program, aquatics activities, and more.
Your students are also able to enjoy our newly constructed Bill R. Foster and Family Recreation Center. The 100,000-square-foot facility offers an indoor jogging track, sauna, basketball courts, fitness center, rock climbing, multipurpose activity court, lounge areas, and more. In addition, the facility houses a recreational pool with three lap lanes, underwater bench seating, water current channel, zip line, spa, etc.
Students who pay the full student service fees at the MSU-Springfield campus will enjoy membership to the Foster Recreation Center at no additional cost.
Athletics
The Missouri State campus is home to 15 NCAA Division I athletic teams. One of the great benefits of being a student at Missouri State is that with the exception of baseball and ice hockey, students do not have to purchase tickets to regular season home athletic events.
If your students are sports fanatics, tell them to check out Maroon Madness, our official student body pep organization, and BearFest Village, home to free tailgating events during football season where students can enjoy food, music, games, and more.
