Greek organizations were founded on the principle of successful scholarship. Individual sororities and fraternities are concerned with each of their member’s academic performance. Not only are grades recognized within chapters, there are also specific honorary organizations in which Greeks are honored for their academic excellence. Chapters achieving high academic excellence are acknowledged by the Greek system as a whole during the year, and the top academic Greek organizations receive awards for their academic success. Each chapter has specific grade requirements for membership and initiation. Chapters offer study hall opportunities, tutoring, academic advising, scholarships, and awards to help ensure the academic success of its members. Greek life also offers the Fred and Marty Marty Greek Scholarship to the top Greek members.
