The English Language Institute (ELI) provides English language learners with skills for academic and career success.  Through a five-level, 25-hour per week program, we offer classes in writing/grammar, reading/vocabulary skills, listening/note-taking strategies, and oral communication/presentation skills, with optional classes in spelling and pronunciation. We also provide customized tutoring for students and community professionals and we host groups for customized programs of varying lengths.  The ELI staff of 24 serves approximately 130 students per semester, processing ELI and MSU conditional admissions, maintaining student records in Banner and SEVIS, and interfacing with other units on campus to provide services to our students.
