Directions to Missouri State University
Visitors are always welcome at Missouri State University. Springfield is in the southwest corner of the state, approximately 220 miles southwest of St. Louis, 170 miles south of Kansas City, 140 miles southwest of Jefferson City, and 70 miles east of Joplin.
From the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport
Take Kearney Street as you leave the airport 3.7 miles to the Kansas Expressway. Turn right and follow the Kansas Expressway approximately 3.0 miles (south) to Grand Street. Turn left and follow Grand Street approximately 2.0 miles (east) to the Missouri State campus.
From the St. Louis area
Exit I-44 at the US 65 south exit (the Branson exit). Stay on US 65 (south) 2.5 miles until you reach the Chestnut Expressway exit. Take the Chestnut Expressway exit. Turn right and follow the Chestnut Expressway 2.7 miles (west) until you reach National Avenue. Turn left and follow National Avenue approximately 1.0 mile (south) to the Missouri State campus.
From the Kansas City area
Stay on Highway 13 from Clinton (which is called the Kansas Expressway as you reach Springfield) until you get to Grand Street. (It is approximately 3.6 miles from where US 13 crosses I-44 to Grand Street.) Turn left and follow Grand Street approximately 2.0 miles (east) until you reach the Missouri State campus.
From the North or South on US 65
Exit US 65 at the Chestnut Expressway exit. Go west on Chestnut 2.7 miles to National Avenue. Turn left and follow National approximately 1.0 mile (south) to the Missouri State campus.
From the East on US 60
Exit US 60 (or James River Expressway) at the National Avenue exit. Turn right and follow National Avenue approximately 3.5 miles (north) to the Missouri State campus.
When you arrive at the Missouri State campus, you will need to obtain a visitor parking permit or be prepared to use a parking meter in a visitor lot.
Daily and weekly visitor parking permits are available at the Parking Administration Office at 700 East Elm or at the Carrington Avenue Information Booth (east of the Plaster Sports Complex on Grand Street) from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours, permits are available at the Department on Safety and Transportation, 744 East Cherry.
Parking meters are available for use in parking lots 1, 2, 7, 10, 16, 19, 24, Wehr Band Lot, Carrington Avenue, and the Park & Ride Building.
