Michael Halliday received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University.
Mr. Halliday has blended academic pursuits and clinical research with 29 years of clinical practice. He initiated the Pre-Physical Therapy Program at Utah State University in 1995 and filled its adjunct educator position for 10 years, which included “Flying Faculty” responsibilities serving other USU campuses. He was later the Assistant and Acting Administrator for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Provo College (UT) before joining the faculty at Missouri State University as Clinic Director. He has directed a private research firm over the past 20 years with the goal of improving the objectivity and science of spine care. Results of Mr. Halliday’s work have been published internationally and resulted in the development of patented, FDA registered, technology, a measurement-guided approach to spine care and orthotic products currently in use in Central and North America.
Mr. Halliday owned and operated several independent physical therapy clinics and helped other clinicians do likewise. He authored a Spine Care Clinic Manual for physical therapists and an Ergonomic Manual for therapists, Ergonomists and Industrial Hygienists. Mr. Halliday has provided inservice training for hundreds of MDs, PTs and clinic facility staff and has served as consultant for the United Parcel Service, the Seattle Supersonics of the NBA, the Miss America Pageant and others.
