Missouri State University

Program Mission

The mission of the Department of Physical Therapy is to provide students with a quality education that will allow graduates to practice, and become leaders, in a global society in which health care is constantly changing. Graduates will be prepared to function as primary care practitioners with direct access to patients where allowed by applicable state laws. The educational process includes extensive and intensive didactic and clinical experiences. In addition to mastering substantial knowledge and skills, graduates are expected to have effective interpersonal skills, to be life-long learners, to communicate effectively, and to be critical thinkers who can recognize and implement solutions to improve health care.
