Call to Order

1:15 p.m. in UNVH 113 by Gary Brock, Chair

Attendance

Betty Evans, Tom Kane, Tom Lane, Pauline Nugent, Cindy Pemberton, Helen Reid, Art Spisak, John Steiert and Cathy VanLanduyt

Minutes

Motion by Thomas Lane to accept minutes (distributed via email) passed unanimously.

GoalQuest

Motion from Thomas Lane that we explore pilot opportunities with GoalQuest and that we take into consideration how GoalQuest fits into the course as it evolves.  Seconded by Cathy VanLanduyt and unanimously passed.

Pilot "Academy" in Fall

 

Request departments/colleges ask their best teachers to be part of an academy
  • develop training program for instructors
  • review strategies and approaches in terms of exceptional teaching and working well with students
  • support and attract instructors
  • tap into freshness/uniqueness of new faculty
  • use built-in resources, i.e., Showcase on Teaching and Learning
  • assess what works, what doesn't, etc., at end of semester
