Reporting Non-Attendance

Instructor Drop—after first two class periods

Students who miss the first two class periods and have not informed the departmental office and/or instructor of intent to remain in class may be dropped by the instructor for non-attendance. This is done by completing the Instructor Drop/Prerequisite Drop form online at http://www.missouristate.edu/recreg/faculty?staff.asp (keyword: non-attendance). The student will be notified of this action by mail.

Checking and Reporting Non-Attendance of Students

Check your class list on the web Faculty/Advisor Resource Center to determine whether a student is properly enrolled.  Please do not allow students who do not appear on your class list to attend. If students are not properly enrolled they cannot be graded at the conclusion of the semester.

Check attendance periodically and report students who never attend or who stop attending. By doing so, you will be helping us to be proactive in getting students properly enrolled in the correct sections, reminding students of the need to properly drop or withdraw in order to prevent owing fees and receiving failing grades, and complying with federal laws governing financial aid.

You should report non-attendance by completing a web form at http://www.missouristate.edu/recreg/faculty?staff.asp (keyword: non-attendance).

Information required

  • Student name
  • Last 4-digits of student ID
  • Date student last attended
  • Course code

The Office of Registrar will attempt to contact the student and address the issue by having the student process a drop or withdrawal or a change of section, as appropriate.
