Hey, everyone! My name is Kayla Benedict and this is my second year here at Missouri State. I’m from Bolivar, Missouri and I am majoring in Agriculture Business with an emphasis on Finance and Management. I am actively involved in Sigma Alpha, Phi Eta Sigma, Collegiate FFA, and am currently the secretary for Collegiate Farm Bureau. When I’m not busy with school or work, I love to go home and spend time with my family and friends. I am a Mountain Dew addict, a chocoholic, obsessed with the color green, and I cannot resist things that are green and shiny, especially Ford trucks. I also like to get involved and support my favorite causes, in particular helping groups that raise awareness of cancer.
Missouri State was not on my list of colleges I was considering until the spring of my senior year of high school, which is when everyone else already knew where they were going. I happened to be on campus for an FFA activity, and talked to some of the students. When I found out that Missouri State has an amazing agricultural program, awesome scholarships, and Pepsi products on every corner; I became hooked. If I could tell incoming freshman anything it would be to give new things a shot. I know Missouri State is the place for me and I hope to be here for the freshman and show them how great it is to be an MSU Bear!
