Financial Aid 

Health, Physical Education, & Recreation Scholarships

Contact the department directly for application and deadline.  Scholarship amounts may vary annually.  Unless otherwise noted, students must be undergraduates enrolled full-time (12 hours).

Beverly Enterprises, Inc. Scholarship
Student must be a recreation and leisure studies major and demonstrate interest in working with senior adults.

Florence Baker Bugg Scholarship
Student must have proven themselves to be outstanding major of physical education or a related field or ba a high school senior who is a prospective major of physical education or a related field. The consideration being equal, preference will be given to a female student from Midwest. If an athlete, applicants must adhere to NCAA requirements.

Mildred Bailey Evans Scholarship Fund
Student must be actively involved in Physical Education majors club, Honors Club, or SENA, and have participated in intramural, interscholastic, or community athletic programs as a player, coach, teacher-coach, assistant coach, manager, or trainer. Student must also have demonstrated citizenship via school and community activities. Financial need is a primary consideration.

Shirley Frye Cummins Memorial
Student must have graduated within the current academic year and enrolled in graduate school for the ensuing year. Student must have a GPA of 2.90 in physical education and overall GPA of 2.75. Student must be actively involved in physical education majors/honors club, participated in intramural or intrascholastic or community athletic programs, and demonstrated citizenship via school and community activities.  Financial need is a consideration.

Coach and Mrs. Andy J. McDonald Memorial Scholarship
Student must be a physical education major. When awarded to an incoming freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential, and leadership qualities. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of at least 3.25 and a GPA of at least 3.25 in physical education. 

Recreation & Leisure Studies Scholarships

George Salmon Memorial Handball Scholarship
Student must participate in handball competitions and have a desire to compete in national collegiate handball tournaments. When awarded to an entering freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential and leadership qualities. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of 2.0.
