College of Education Scholarships

Bernice Jackson Scholarship*
Student must be preparing for a career in education as a teacher, administrator, counselor, librarian or other professional role.

Dr. Jim Layton Scholarship
Student must be in one of the following programs: MS in Reading; BS in Education majoring in early childhood, middle school, elementary, or special education at the senior level; or a Post Baccalaureate student majoring in early childhood, middle school, elementary or special education.

Sandra K. Schoen Memorial Scholarship
Student must be enrolled at the sophomore level or higher whose career goal is to work with abused children. Student must have an overall GPA of 2.5 and a GPA of 2.5 in child development.

Patricia K. Scott Endowment
Student must be a graduate from a high school in Greene County, Missouri. When awarded to an incoming freshman, consideration will be given to high school performance, college potential and leadership qualities. When awarded to a student enrolled at the sophomore level or higher, the student must have maintained an overall GPA of at least 3.0.

Myrtle P. Teter Memorial Scholarship Award
Student must be enrolled full-time in the College of Education. Consideration will be given to a student who has demonstrated an aptitude for becoming both an educator and a scholar by maintaining a GPA of at least 3.0.

*Indicates that student must have a FAFSA on file by March 31st to be considered for this award.
